Legend of Keepers: Career of a Dungeon Manager.
Legend of Keepers is the perfect mix between Dungeon Defender and Roguelite. You have been hired as a dungeon manager by the Dungeons Company. Your job is simple: protect their dungeons!
Legend of Keepers was one of the first projects I worked on since I started collaborating with Goblinz Studio. When it was pitched to me as a job, they told me it would include Darkest Dungeon team-based combat, tactical positioning, roguelite elements… but also draw heavily on the theme, style and humour of the Dungeon Keeper series, but with a more corporate spin to it. As Dungeon Keeper 2 was one of those games that really struck a chord with me when I was younger (and even now, writing this, all I want to do is root through my drawers and try to find the disc I still have, somewhere, all these years later), I had a great time working on this one. It was a bit of a challenge at times, particularly in terms of puns in names, but that’s also one of the things I love about my job.
Concretely speaking, I mostly did proofreading work on the UI and gameplay elements (not much work to be done, to be honest, the developers are pretty good in English), and translation on anything story-related.
It was also my first experience in writing lines to be voiced. I never had any direct link with the voice actors, but there's a very special feeling when you hear someone read out lines you wrote, with the full intonation and characterisation they can bring to the character.
